The Story Behind the Collaboration
A design born in a small Connecticut workshop. A collaboration that introduced it to the world. A commitment to craftsmanship that never changed.
Every TreeTone guitar begins with a blank piece of wood, a clear vision, and the belief that exceptional instruments are built through patience, intention, and attention to detail.
When I designed the Del Sol, my goal wasn't to create a guitar for mass production. I simply wanted to build an instrument that captured everything I love about timeless offset guitars while refining them for today's player. That philosophy eventually led to something bigger.
From a One-Man Workshop to a Worldwide Audience
When Orangewood approached me about collaborating on what would become their first electric guitar, it was an opportunity to bring one of my original designs to a broader audience.
Working together, we adapted the Del Sol into a production instrument while preserving the proportions, personality, and character that made the original design unique.
Since its release, the Orangewood × TreeTone Del Sol has been featured by major guitar publications, reviewed by respected players, and introduced thousands of musicians to a design that began in my Connecticut workshop.
Watching something that started as a hand-built prototype on my workbench reach players around the world has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

It began as a hand-built custom instrument.
The design proved itself through countless hours of building, refining and playing.
Eventually it caught the attention of Orangewood, who approached me about adapting it for production.
Today the same design philosophy exists in two forms.
What Makes TreeTone Different?
Every TreeTone is built by me from start to finish.
There are no production lines or assembly shortcuts. Every neck is shaped by hand. Every fret is leveled, crowned, and polished individually. Every finish receives the time it deserves, and every final setup is completed by me before the guitar ever leaves the bench.
Many TreeTone guitars also feature custom wound pickups, carefully selected woods, and countless small refinements that simply aren't possible in production manufacturing.
Those details aren't added for marketing—they're the result of having the freedom to build every instrument by what inspires me.
That's what makes every TreeTone unique.
